Toyota Supports Community Emancipation at the 2016 National Urban League Conference

Toyota Automaker celebrates 25 years of Partnership with the National Urban League.

August 3rd, all roads lead to Baltimore where the 2016 National Urban League’s Annual Conference will be held. Many community and business empowerment workshops will be displayed there. This event lasts four days in Baltimore Convention center and is led by both outstanding civil and business leaders. Toyota, a major sponsor, will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the National Urban League. It is the nation’s largest historic and civil rights organization. The National Urban League was founded in 1910 and is headquartered in New York City.

“At Toyota, our commitment to support communities where we operate is a basic part of our business,” said Wil James, president, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., who is also a National Urban League Board Trustee and 2016 Conference Co-Chair. James added, “We are committed to making the best cars and trucks, as well as helping to provide access to education, training and employment.”

Toyota will be the host together with the National Urban League during the four-day conference. There will be several sessions including Whitney M. Young Jr. Awards Gala, honoring BET Chairman and CEO, Debra Lee, Actor and Producer Nate Parker, Kevin Liles, CEO, KWL Entertainment, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Apart from this, there will also be activities aimed at tenable living, proper child passenger safety practices and career planning.
