Toyota Prius C for Best Buy’s Geek Squad

Geek Squad now has a new car and a new logo as well. Geek Squad got rid of its signature Volkswagen Beetle “Geekmobiles” for the new 2016 Toyota Prius.

From April 11th, Best Buy Geek Squad will update its fleet with more than 1,000 units. First 700 units are planned to join the fleet immediately, while others will be added later this year as told by Best Buy spokeswoman Paula Baldwin.

As said by Baldwin, this vehicle was chosen in large part for its fuel efficiency. Prius C hybrid rated by EPA will have 50 percent less carbon emission than the Beetle.

Toyota sold 31.936 Prius vehicles in the U.S. this year in March. This partnership provides Toyota with an opportunity to show the Prius C to thousands of costumers from coast to coast, said Doug Coleman, Toyota’s national marketing manager for advanced technology vehicles.

Geek Squad agents are helping clients with a new home theater experience, better WI-Fi performance or establishing security solutions, and not just fixing the family computer as said in the statement of Geek Squad Chief Inspector Nate Brauer. The new refreshed logo is an echo of how we progress along with technology.

Approximate calculation for Geek Squad shows that 20,000 agents will drive its fleet of Geekmobiles 12.6 million miles per year. All Prius vehicles in its fleet are approved for service at local dealerships, said Baldwin.
