Toyota Names Emily Kennedy the 2018 Toyota Mother of Invention

The 2018 Toyota Mother of Invention was awarded to Emily Kennedy, CEO of Marinus Analytics. Toyota’s National Manager, Mia Phillips, presented Kennedy a $50,000 grant to be used for the company’s future success. Marinus Analytics is a technology firm that was founded in 2011 and its mission is to assist law enforcement to fight human trafficking.

Emily Kennedy was first inspired of this company’s creation after experiencing victims of human trafficking while visiting Europe. Kennedy began her technology career in 2011, focusing on the vision of her company while attending college. The technology that is the foundation for her company is called TrafficJam. TrafficJam is an artificial intelligence tool that “turns big data into actionable intelligence for sex trafficking investigations, including the first facial recognition technology designed to find human trafficking victims online.” Currently, Marinus Analytics is analyzing data in 11 different countries with plans to expand internationally.
