Toyota leads Auto Industry into Novelty Again

There is no car maker that can compete with the number of Toyota’s issued patents in 2015. Toyota has the advantage in anticipating and engineering the cars of tomorrow built for today, whether it’s the creation of artificial skin for safety mannequins or self-cleaning fabrics.

For the second consecutive year, the United States Patent and Trademark Office supplies more innovative patents than the other automakers, which was released in the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) publication.

Toyota has got 1,636 patents and for the past eight years has awarded more patents than any other company in automotive industry. This accomplishment shows Toyota’s dedication to better cars, greater safety and technological and environmental advancements. 

“As companies in the automotive industry transform themselves into broader mobility providers, no auto company better demonstrates innovation and technology for the future than Toyota,” said Jeff Makarewicz, senior vice president, Toyota Technical Center (TTC), Toyota’s North American research & development headquarters.  “We’re focused on delivering great experiences for our customers, a cornerstone of Toyota’s product commitment, and this recognition is proof we’re living up to that promise.”

Toyota is the only one from the automotive industry between the top 20 on the IPO list. This number of patents shows that Toyota is company increasing success through being an auto-leader and one of the world’s leading innovators as well.
