Although it took Mother Nature more time than usual to provide us New Englander’s with Spring, this season’s charming weather is finally here. This time of the year comes with much excitement — from Spring cleaning to gearing up for the warmer weather. As you enjoy the next 5 weeks of this beautiful season, don’t forget to take care of your vehicle clean-up! Below we highlight five ways to ensure your car is is pristine condition for the months ahead.

  1. Wash the exterior of your car. The winter months bring a lot of dirt and salt on the roads. Without proper exterior cleaning, certain areas of your car can suffer from rust and corrosion. If you decide to clean your car yourself, focus on underneath the car as well as within the wheel well as the dirt and salt are attracted to these areas.
  2. Deep clean the interior of your car. Along with the exterior of your car having a buildup of dirt and salt, the inside of your car is the next culprit of accumulating these same issues. Focus on deep cleaning the entire floor of all rows in your car, including the truck, as well as deep between and beneath the seats.
  3. Check all of your tires. When was the last time you had your tires checked? As the winter months are long gone, an entirely new climate has arrived. Make sure that all of your tires are properly inflated, are free from any debris, and ensuring that your tires aren’t bald as a result from the harsh winter conditions.
  4. Change your wiper blades. After this winter’s inclement snow showers and sleet, it’s a very good idea to change your wiper blades for optimal results for the rest of this year. Having a new set of wiper blades not only provides you a cleaner windshield but an excellent increase of visibility while driving in the rain.
  5. Service your vehicle. Although your local service center can perform the above four Spring cleaning tasks for you, allow a Certified Toyota Technician to take a deeper look into your car. A few items to ask about include filling your fluids, conducting a multi-point inspection, rotating your tires, checking your ventilation system, and tuning up your engine.
