2016 RAV4 Earns Car Seat Top of Class Award from Cars.com
One major concern for parents is child safety while they travel by car with their kids. One of the most important aspects of their protection in a crash is the appropriate car seat installation. By driving the 2016 Toyota RAV4, parents can be at ease when this critical issue is in question.

The RAV4 earned a perfect score, if we look at each category tested. Cars.com named the compact SUV as its Car Seat of honor roll. Cars.com says that “when it comes to car seats, the RAV4 is at the top of the class,” admiring a large backseat to accommodate rear-facing baby seats. RAV4 as one of only six vehicles among 84 tested 2016 and 2017 vehicles earned this score.
The Cars.com recognition comes from getting high marks from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for two other Toyota models. The IIHS gave the best possible rating, Good+ in its LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) user-friendly grades for both Toyota Prius and Lexus RX.
“We’ve put a lot of effort into making installation of child safety seats easier, and we’re glad to see that it’s working,” said Jennifer Pelky, senior safety engineer at Toyota’s North American R&D Headquarters. “I have two young boys myself, and child passenger safety is of the utmost importance to me, both as a mother and an engineering professional that has an active role in LATCH development on Toyota vehicles.”
